Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools CALLAWAY ELEMENTARY in Jonesboro, GA seeks a dedicated Pre-K Assistant to support instruction for 4- and 5-year-olds, assist with individual or small groups, and provide clerical support. Reports to the Principal.

The role requires GaPSC paraprofessional licensing options, collaboration with teachers, monitoring safety, and clear communication with staff and families. Starting immediately, this is a grade 16, 190-day, full-time position with salary scale.

Qualifications

• GaPSC-accepted paraprofessional qualifications or equivalent.
• Experience supporting Pre-K students preferred.
• Must be able to stand and walk for 7 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups with lessons and activities.
• Communicate with teachers to implement classroom objectives and track progress.
• Monitor safety and behavior in various settings (classroom, playground, trips).
• Document observations and incidents for instructional/administrative staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support instructional goals.
