Job summary

Katy ISD Memorial Parkway Elementary in Katy, Texas is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten Aide to support the instructional program and assist teachers with classroom activities.

This is a 187-day, non-exempt position with the IS03 pay grade and immediate starting date. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, Title I campus hours, and the ability to work with students, teachers, and deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Title I campus: 48 college hours required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
• Ability to work with students and teachers
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule
• School office experience or volunteer experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work within deadlines
• Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed

Responsibilities

• Adhere to federal, state, and local policies and procedures related to pre-kindergarten programs.
• Participate in planned in-services and professional growth activities.
• Assist in carrying out the instructional program.
• Assist in maintaining student records and audit folders.
• Assist in preparation, use, and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist with teacher-planned activities, exercises, and drills.
• Assist in the teaching/learning process of working with individuals and small groups of students to reinforce skills as directed by the teacher.
• Attend professional meetings as required.
• Ability to assist in administering and scoring objective assessment instruments.
• Ability to maintain flexibility in the performance of required duties.
• Ability to place district goals above personal goals.
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with others.
• Supervise individual and small group activities as directed by the teacher.
