Job summary

Learning My Way Montessori in Philadelphia seeks an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher within a nurturing Montessori environment. You will help implement curriculum, supervise activities, and ensure child safety during daily routines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and a commitment to quality care, with opportunities for professional growth and a supportive team in a licensed facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• PA Early Childhood - 4th grade Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with organizing activities or implementing a curriculum that allows children to learn and explore.
• Complete training required by LMWM and affiliated associations.
• Implement a cleaning routine throughout the day to keep interactive areas sanitary and safe.
• Monitor children during outdoor activities and interact to enhance learning.
• Maintain communication with parents and contact them in emergencies.
• Prepare and serve meals and monitor children during lunch.
• Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems and inform parents.
• Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interests.
• Help children maintain good hygiene and change diapers as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Primary responsibilities are to assist the lead teacher with the following:

• Complete any and all training required by LMWM, PHLpreK, PKC, ELRC, and any other associations LMWM is affiliated with, or may become affiliated with.
• Implementing a cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all of the interactive areas sanitary and safe
• Monitor children during outdoor activities and interact with the children to enhance their learning.
• Maintain communication with parents and contact parents in emergency situations.
• Prepare and serve meals and monitor children during lunch time.
• Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring the problems to the attention of parents
• Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interest
• Help children keep good hygiene, change the diapers of infants and toddlers
• Additional duties as assigned

Job Qualifications
