Job summary

Geoprobe Systems® offers a Pre-Engineering Internship for rising sophomores or juniors in Mechanical Engineering. Begin in the Kansas service department, learn our machinery, and work on real customer problems with a dedicated team.

Interns will gain hands-on experience diagnosing issues, reading schematics, and assisting in maintenance, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects and potentially advance within Geoprobe’s engineering program.

Qualifications

  • Rising sophomores or juniors majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Interest in practical problem solving and hands-on learning.
  • Willingness to engage with heavy machinery and shop environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintenance and repair of drilling equipment under guidance.
  • Participate in diagnosing issues and troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Learn to read and interpret schematic drawings and manuals.
  • Support assembly and disassembly of components and systems.
  • Exposure to machine and fabrication shops.
  • Contribute to a broad learning experience across projects.

Job description

Are you a mechanical engineering major looking to gain practical, real-world experience? The Geoprobe Systems® Pre‑Engineering Internship program offers a hands‑on opportunity for rising sophomores or juniors to work with innovative drilling and tooling machines. You will start your journey in the Kansas service department, where you'll get to know our machinery and engage in problem‑solving activities alongside a dedicated team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn about mechanical and electrical systems while contributing to meaningful projects that support real customers.

This internship is a steppingstone for a future career as a mechanical engineer, providing practical experience that complements academic learning. Interns who demonstrate growth and commitment will be considered for future internship opportunities in our engineering program.

What You'll Do
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of technical drilling equipment under the guidance of experienced staff
  • Participate in diagnosing issues and troubleshooting problems on equipment
