Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Pre-Engineered Service Technician in North Dakota. You will independently install, commission, inspect, test, maintain and repair pre-engineered fire suppression systems to meet NFPA codes and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 17/17A/96 and manufacturer requirements.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license, if driving role.
• Strong understanding of pre-engineered systems, practices and applicable codes.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, and repair pre-engineered systems per NFPA and manufacturer specifications.
• Replace/charge agents, service cylinders/cartridges, and verify detection and actuation.
• Identify deficiencies and perform corrective actions; ensure AHJ compliance.
• Read and apply manufacturer manuals and service bulletins.
• Complete accurate inspection reports, deficiency lists, and close-out documentation.
• Communicate system condition and recommendations to customers.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace; follow all safety procedures.
• Respond to emergency service calls.
• Use of hand tools and testing equipment.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician

NICET Level I or above preferred
