Job summary

Public Consulting Group is seeking an in-person Instructor to deliver direct instruction to students in employability areas such as communication, life skills, and pre-employment skills. The instructor identifies student strengths and helps develop job-ready competencies, including resume writing and interview skills.

The role requires working on-site daily, coordinating with consultants, and preparing portfolios with certificates and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Instructors identify and increase a student’s strengths, interests, and abilities related to employment skills.
• Instruct students on employability skills such as communication, technology, problem solving, teamwork, professionalism, self-determination, self-advocacy, resume writing, interview skills, and job search.
• Maintain accurate and complete files for each student.

Responsibilities

• Assess the learning strengths and areas of development and interests of the student.
• With the student’s input and assessment results, develop goals and outcomes.
• Instruct students on employability skills such as communication, technology, problem solving/critical thinking, teamwork, professionalism, and job search.
• Assist the student in developing a portfolio including certificates and letters of recommendation.
• Utilize teaching methods and adaptations to meet individual student needs.
• Monitor and record daily attendance in class and at the work site.
• Teach student to inform instructors or supervisors of absences/tardiness.
• Assist student in training about public transportation and how to access transit.
• Maintain monthly written communication with consultant and other parties as needed.
• Provide employers at work sites information about disability awareness and strategies.
