Job summary

Boston University Global Development Policy Center (GDP Center) seeks a pre-doctoral fellow to contribute to research on international macroeconomic drivers of biodiversity loss and multilateral policies. The fellowship is in-person at Boston University and supports work on development finance, forests and biodiversity.

This 12- to 18-month fellowship will begin in spring or summer 2027, with a 20-hour weekly commitment.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be enrolled in doctoral programs and have completed core coursework.
• Discipline-agnostic, with strong interests in biodiversity and economic governance.
• Experience with policy-oriented research is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help convene workshops of scholars and practitioners.
• Develop a policy-oriented research agenda on biodiversity and finance.
• Produce GDP Center working papers for potential publication.
• Commit to 20 hours per week with mentorship.
