Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a dependable Pre-Delivery Mechanic to inspect and prepare vehicles for customer delivery. You will perform thorough inspections of exterior, interior, mechanical systems, and safety equipment.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently or with a team, and the skill to document findings and communicate required repairs to management. Union representation applies; starting pay is $37.48 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Experience in automotive inspection or repair preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to identify paint, body, interior, and equipment defects.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift/move automotive parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections on vehicles.
• Inspect exterior, interior, mechanical systems, lights and safety equipment.
• Identify scratches, dents, paint defects and fit-and-finish issues.
• Verify equipment and options match specifications.
• Complete minor repairs or adjustments when qualified.
• Check fluids, tires, battery and basic vehicle operation.
• Conduct road tests when required.
• Maintain inspection records and communicate repairs to management.
• Ensure vehicles meet quality standards before delivery.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety guidelines.
