• Perform CIP and sanitation; maintain sanitary conditions and product quality.
• Address employee issues and time lines; may cover for Area Supervisor.

Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.

Responsibilities

This 2nd shift role starts between 1:30pm-3:00pm and 10:00pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday, including weekends as needed. The position directs job assignments and supports Precooked line workers and operations. It trains new line workers and operators, assists the shift supervisor in managing the Packaging Department, and ensures compliance with Safety and Food Safety & Quality rules.

• Perform all jobs in the area; oven operation, mixing, line work, doboy, robot, forklift, and disassembly/assembly of equipment.
• Knowledge of product standards and monitor product and standards to maintain highest possible quality.
• Supervise and advise all employees in task completion.
• Disassembly/assembly of all equipment.
• Perform CIP’s and sanitation of equipment as required.
• Detect and correct GMP/Safety violations.
• Oversee Mix person and time lines.
• Perform minor maintenance work.
• Act on employee issues.
• May fill in for Area Supervisor as needed.
• Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure product quality is maintained.
• Report to management conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and pass forklift certification.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend in English simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

The pay range for this position is $22.95 to $28.05 per hour.
