Job summary

Westinghouse's WECTEC Staffing Services seeks a Project Manager - T&S (Transmission & Substation) for a 1-year, W-2 contract to lead pre-construction activities for solar repower projects, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, 5+ years in utility-scale renewables pre-construction, knowledge of interconnection processes, and solar construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy pre-construction project management or engineering.
• Experience with utility interconnection processes.
• Knowledge of solar construction.
• PMP certification is optional.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction project teams through all phases from development handoff to execution turnover.
• Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk registers for multiple concurrent projects.
• Oversee engineering design activities including electrical, civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
• Coordinate interconnection studies and grid integration requirements.
• Work with environmental team to understand required permits and other regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, utilities, and local authorities.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Support procurement activities including equipment specifications, vendor qualification, and contract negotiations.
• Monitor project budgets and cost forecasts throughout pre-construction phase.
• Report on important financial metrics.
• Lead project meetings, reviews, and milestone presentations.
• Coordinate with operations teams for handoff planning and commissioning preparation.
