Job Title: Pre-Construction Project Manager

Location: Midwest (Fully Remote – Candidates can be located anywhere; projects based in the Midwest)

A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Pre-Construction Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar and battery storage projects through the development phase, including managing the EPC RFP process. This role is responsible for overseeing projects from early development through hand-off to construction, with a focus on risk identification, coordination, and execution readiness. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and accountable for driving project progress. This remote position supports both distributed generation (DG) and utility-scale projects, with limited travel (approximately once per month).

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of project management experience in renewable energy
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from feasibility through execution
• Familiarity with PV solar systems, energy storage, and relevant technical standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Project, ProCore, Quickbase, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized with a proven ability to plan and report clearly under tight deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage projects from feasibility through 30% design to NTP, coordinating across cross-functional teams
• Lead kickoff meetings, track progress, and perform due diligence to identify risks and critical timelines
• Monitor entitlement, permitting, and interconnection milestones; recommend acceleration strategies as needed
• Support RFP responses, M&A due diligence, and coordinate HV/interconnection designs
• Work with estimating teams to align CAPEX assumptions with market pricing
• Provide cost estimates and financial inputs to support modeling and budgeting
• Ensure timely delivery of design reports and studies; review for constructability and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with procurement to obtain equipment quotes, monitor market trends, and manage AVL coordination
• Participate in EPC bidder selection, RFP preparation (via ProCore), bid analysis, and contract alignment
• Maintain bid response databases and support continuous improvement of CAPEX estimating
• Deliver complete project handoff packages to construction teams at NTP
• Develop and track pre-construction schedules; flag and escalate risks appropriately
• Coordinate O&M feedback during early design phases to optimize long-term performance
