Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is looking for a Pre-Construction Manager to join their team! The Pre-Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in the planning and development phases of our construction projects. This individual will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure that projects are thoroughly planned, budgeted, and scheduled before construction begins. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a keen understanding of project management principles.

This position will be based at our headquarters in Wichita, KS.

What You Will Do

  • Project Planning and Development:
  • Lead the pre-construction phase of projects from concept through to construction handoff.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, planning, and project controls teams to develop comprehensive project scopes.
  • Assist in development of project execution plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and procurement strategies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs and optimize project outcomes.
  • Scheduling and Coordination:
  • Define deliverables and update detailed pre-construction schedule.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of pre-construction milestones.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to assist competitive bidding processes.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to align team efforts and communicate progress.
  • Budget and Cost Management:
  • Assist with development and manage pre-construction budgets, including estimates for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
  • Monitor project costs and implement cost-control measures to prevent budget overruns.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all pre-construction activities, facilitating communication between internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
  • Assist project managers with updates to senior leadership.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all pre-construction activities comply with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to verify project readiness for construction.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent field experience.
  • Experience in early phase construction planning.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time to our US and Canada-based facilities
