Opportunity Resource Services, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee the Pre-College Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math & Science programs in Tarrant and Dallas counties, TX.
You will manage daily operations, supervise staff, and drive student recruitment and readiness activities. The role leads field trips, six-week summer programming, and FAFSA/college-app support to help students graduate and pursue postsecondary education.
The Assistant Director for the Pre-College Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math & Science programs support first-generation, low-income high school students in Tarrant & Dallas counties. This role provides day-to-day oversight of program operations, supervises team members, and leads student recruitment efforts. The Assistant Director facilitates after-school college-readiness activities, coordinates and leads field trips and events, and manages the six-week summer program. The overarching goal of the position is to ensure that participants graduate from high school and successfully enroll in a postsecondary education program.
Site Locations: Southwest High School in Fort Worth & Lancaster High School in Lancaster
Travel Requirements: There is local travel required within the target area of the project on a daily or weekly basis. There are field trips to locations outside the target area that can require overnight stays. Once or twice per year, staff may be expected to attend a conference or training that requires overnight travel.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs., to stand and walk for long periods of time, to endure strong heat and cold, to climb stairs and to fly on airplane. Must be able to project voice and speak publicly. Must be able to drive a vehicle, read road signs, judge distance, spend extensive hours in front of a computer screen. Must be able to listen carefully to others on the telephone.
