Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes is preferred.
• Experience with pre-certification/authorization workflows is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Review charts daily to determine pre-certification and referrals needed.
• Review patient insurance data to assess medical necessity for treatments.
• Correspond with Medicare and carriers for data on authorizations and requirements.
• Perform clerical duties, including letters to patients and carriers.
• Schedule surgeries and communicate details to involved parties.
• Make referrals based on physician review of test results.
• Create new patient accounts in billing software and relay information.
• Maintain knowledge of treatment trends and coding terminology (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Cross-train for front desk and medical assistant roles as needed.
• Schedule procedures and manage funds collection and deposits.
