Scheduled Hours

40 hours per week.

Position Summary

Performs varied professional services to ensure medical/surgical and diagnostic/ancillary services are accomplished efficiently and that reimbursement is maximized through required interaction with third‑party payers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Initiates and facilitates the predetermination process.
• Contacts appropriate insurance, DME, and pharmacy companies for benefit verification and pre‑certification of surgical/nonsurgical procedures, medications, and laboratory tests.
• Supplies all documentation required during the pre‑certification process.
• Maintains surgery/procedure schedule for department faculty and keeps open communication with physicians and their assistants regarding their schedules.
• Maintains appropriate documentation and tracking of all pre‑certification requests.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$20.57 – $30.84 per hour. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in this grade across the University. Individual rates are determined by qualifications, performance, equity within the department, market rates, and budget.
