Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Pre-Awards Grants Manager in Athens to lead grant proposal development and review in collaboration with faculty and Sponsored Projects Administration. The role emphasizes compliance with funding policies and effective communication with Principal Investigators.

The incumbent will support budget development, biosketches, and electronic submissions, while serving as a Decentralized Limited Signatory Authority and ensuring timely opportunities for sponsor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2 years of professional experience.
• Excellent communication/people skills.
• Extensive knowledge of OMB circulars and CASB justifications.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to make complex judgments and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty with preparing and submitting grant proposals, including budget development and accompanying documents.
• Review proposals for accuracy and compliance with UGA, state, and federal regulations.
• Advise Principal Investigators of proposal requirements not yet met and provide suggestions on compliance.
• Serve as DSLA with limited signature authority on behalf of Sponsored Projects Administration and the Vice President for Research.
• Coordinate activities with Sponsored Projects Administration and the PI team.
