Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Pre-Award Grant Coordinator to manage pre-award activities for the CAHNRS Grants Team. You will assist faculty and PIs in proposal development, budgeting, and sub-award coordination while ensuring compliance with sponsor and university guidelines.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, accurate budgeting, and timely submissions. It is a full-time, permanent position with a comprehensive benefits package and salary in the mid-to-upper range

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting, or 2 years of relevant experience.
• Exceptional English written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to use automated spreadsheets and other tools for financial analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist PIs with development, preparation and submission of grant and contract proposals.
• Develop budgets and budget justifications, ensuring sponsor and university requirements are met.
• Review budgets for consistency with sponsor requirements and overhead rates.
• Coordinate and review proposal elements for consistency and completeness; route documents per university procedures.
• Prepare high-quality written documents and analyze data; train staff in grant post-award management.
