Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited RN nursing program.
• Current Missouri RN license or eligible for Missouri licensure.
• Current BCLS and ACLS (ASC staff: BCLS only); maintain status 2–3 years in peri-operative setting.
• 1–2 years med/surg or ICU experience.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain interactive/interpersonal relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including telephone skills.
• Ability to work in a self-directed, team-based environment with little supervision.
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and equipment used in ambulatory surgery center settings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with anesthesia providers to plan and organize care for scheduled surgical patients.
• Gather and review outside records to prepare the patient for anesthesia.
• Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team to optimize safety and OR throughput.
• Provide patient education on how to prepare for surgery and what to expect.
• Deliver patient-specific instructions on medications, diet, and infection prevention for the day of surgery.
