OCOM is seeking a Part-Time Pre-Op Nurse in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The nurse will greet and escort patients to the pre-op area, ensuring that all medical orders are accurate. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining positive relationships with healthcare staff and patients.
This role requires a degree in nursing, active registration, and BCLS certification. The candidate must also possess analytical abilities, effective communication skills, and be capable of handling physical demands.
To establish guidelines to identify the professional qualifications and skill required for employment in the pre-operative area for the RN. It is the Pre-Op nurse’s responsibility to formulate and execute the nursing care for patients of all ages in the Pre-Op area to ensure the patients receives the highest quality care, that their safety is ensured according policy and procedure, and to instigate and execute all other tasks as requested by the Chief Nursing Officer.
Licensure and Certification: BCLS, if not current, certification within 90 days of hire. Requires a degree or Diploma from an accredited school of Nursing with active registration from the Board of Nursing from the State she/he is currently licensed.
Environmental and physical requirements - The employee works in a temperature controlled environment. Candidate must be able to read and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, computer skills, and communication skills to deal well with the public (customers) as well as peers. Vision for near, mid-range, and far accommodation. Hearing for low, medium and high pitch. Position exerts up to 50lb. of force occasionally and/or up to 20lb. of force frequently and/or up to 10lb, of force consistently to move object. Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and finger dexterity. There is potential for exposure to blood and body fluids (high), and exposure to infectious disease.
Experience required: Previous experience in a healthcare environment pre-op nurse experience preferred.
