Job summary

MUSC Health in the Pee Dee Division seeks a Pre-Admission Testing Advanced Practice Provider to join a collaborative perioperative team. You will conduct comprehensive preoperative evaluations with surgical and anesthesia colleagues, addressing medical risks and ensuring patient safety.

The role emphasizes patient education, care coordination, and evidence-based practice within a respected academic health system. Working hours are standard 40-hour weeks in an inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PA or NP program.
• Current SC PA/NP license or eligibility.
• BLS certification required.
• DHEC and DEA licenses as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and optimize patients preoperatively.
• Educate patients on preoperative instructions, medications, fasting guidelines, and expectations for the surgical experience.
• Initiate referrals to other health care providers and consult with the attending or collaborating physician.
• Communicate significant findings to the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Potential to precept students in MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student.
