Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. is seeking a Pre Admission Nurse in Florida to interview patients by phone, review online health histories, and assess medical histories before scheduled admissions at Davenport Ambulatory Surgery Center.

The role supports admission planning, pre-admission screening, and patient education per center guidelines. The nurse will collect necessary information (H&P, EKG, physician consults) and coordinate with anesthesia to ensure patient needs are met.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in Florida.
• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in the state.
• BLS required.
• Familiarity with perioperative services preferred.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership and teaching capabilities.
• Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients by telephone and review health history.
• Complete assessment of patient histories prior to scheduled admission.
• Gather information (H&P, EKG, physician consults) to aid admission planning.
• Provide pre-admission instructions and education per center guidelines.
• Document explanations of pre-operative instructions to patient/significant other.
• Contact patients before surgery to assess medical history and provide preadmission teaching.
• Coordinate with anesthesia department to meet patient needs.
• Care for adult patients, including geriatric and pediatric populations.
