Job summary

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley invites applications for Part-Time Practicum Faculty in Social Work. The role supports Bachelor’s and MSW programs, coordinating field placements, supervision, and evaluation to ensure CSWE competency attainment.

Faculty will act as the primary contact for students and agency staff, coordinating instructors and supervisors while aligning learning opportunities with program standards and enrollment needs.

Qualifications

• MSW/MSSW from a CSWE-accredited social work program.
• Part-time Lecturer appointment contingent upon enrollment and scheduling needs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate weekly seminar course.
• Conduct student one site visit per semester (in person if possible) for split placements, or two visits per semester for block placements.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of the student learning/education plan to meet CSWE competencies.
• Ensure timely student evaluations and that minimum scores are achieved for successful practicum.
• Ensure students complete required practicum hours.
• Serve as liaison between student, agency staff, and practicum office; advocate for student needs.
