Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Practice Support Assistant II in Peabody, MA to join a collaborative medical team. You will handle complex scheduling, patient outreach, and data reporting while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting patient satisfaction across departments.

Responsibilities include coordinating appointments, processing forms and authorizations, and assisting with check-in/check-out.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling software and EMR systems (Epic or equivalent).
  • Strong problem solving and complex patient management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex scheduling tasks, including appointment booking and patient outreach.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and reporting; handle follow-up activities and referral tracking.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, resolve escalated issues and support patient satisfaction.
  • Oversee waiting room operations, verify patient information and assist with check-in/check-out processes.
  • Complete and process forms, prior authorizations, prescription renewals, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with supervisors on coverage and workflow; participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Positions in this function perform advanced Practice Support Assistant II duties with a high level of autonomy and competency. Serves as a key member of the medical team and will be working alongside a team of other Practice Support Assistants delivering excellent customer service and supporting strong patient‑clinician relationships. In addition to core responsibilities, handles administrative tasks, which vary by department.

Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm

Primary Responsibilities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full‑time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
