Job summary

Dentons US LLP is seeking a Practice Support Administrator to aid day-to-day operations across designated practice groups. You will work with Senior Practice Directors and business services to drive data-informed decisions, enhance efficiency, and support talent management initiatives.

You will analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and support strategic initiatives, contributing to profitability and growth in a fast-paced legal setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
  • Ability to work in a professional team environment and interact at all levels in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Proactive work ethic with the ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
  • Self-starter with ownership and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support practice management and strategic operations with leaders to execute priorities.
  • Monitor KPIs, identify risks, opportunities and trends affecting performance.
  • Conduct operational assessments and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Coordinate practice initiatives including technology and change management efforts.
  • Prepare executive reports, presentations, and analyses for leaders.
  • Assist budgeting, forecasting and annual business planning for the practice.

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Practice Support Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of designated practice groups. Working closely with Senior Practice Directors, Practice Group Leaders and business services professionals, this position plays a key role in driving data-informed decision making, enhancing operational effectiveness, supporting talent management initiatives, and improving overall practice profitability.

The successful candidate will leverage operational, financial, and people-related data to identify trends, develop actionable insights, and support implementation of strategic initiatives across practice groups. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong analytical capabilities, business acumen, and project management skills who enjoys working directly with stakeholders to improve performance and support growth.

The Practice Support Administrator will serve as an integral part of the practice management team and will report to a Senior Practice Director.

Responsibilities:

Practice Management & Strategic Operations

  • Partner with Practice Group Leaders and Senior Practice Directors to support the execution of practice group strategic priorities and business plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends impacting practice performance.
  • Conduct operational assessments and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, client service, and profitability.
  • Coordinate and support practice-specific initiatives, including special projects, technology adoption efforts, and change management activities.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and analyses for practice leadership.
  • Attend practice group meetings, develop action plans, track follow-up activities, and ensure timely execution of priorities.
  • Support practice budgeting, forecasting, and annual business planning activities.

Financial Analysis, Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor key metrics including revenues, profitability, realization, utilization, leverage, collections, aged receivables, rates, and productivity.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance against budget, prior-year performance, and industry benchmarks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability through staffing optimization, workflow improvements, and resource allocation.
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reports related to practice performance.
  • Provide competitive intelligence and market research to support strategic initiatives and growth opportunities.

Talent Management

  • Monitor attorney and paraprofessional utilization and collaborate with practice leadership on staffing and workload management.
  • Assist in analysis of data and trends related to productivity, retention, promotion, performance, and capacity.
  • Support annual evaluation, promotion, compensation and talent review processes.
  • Assist in identifying professional development and succession planning needs.
  • Collaborate with HR, Recruiting, Professional Development, and practice leadership on talent acquisition, onboarding, retention and performance management initiatives.
  • Support planning efforts by identifying staffing gaps, capacity constraints, and resource allocation opportunities.
  • Provide support for attorney and paraprofessional recruiting initiatives.

Practice Growth & Planning

  • Support strategic growth initiatives through business analysis, market intelligence, and performance reporting.
  • Monitor and report on strategic initiatives and business development activities.
  • Support preparation of practice plans and progress reporting against strategic objectives.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Ability to work in a professional team environment and interact at all levels in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Proactive work ethic with the ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities and achieve solutions under tight deadlines.
  • Professional self-starter who shows ownership and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply innovation in identifying problems and in proposing and implementing solutions.

Pursuant with states' laws, the salary range for this position is $110,000 - $145,000, based on experience and local market.
