Job description

Job Overview:

The Practice Specialist primarily supports the onboarding of acquired practices, practice location changes, mergers, and expansions. This includes initial practice assessments and data collection, acquisition project coordination, data conversion assessments, and overall management of Epic Change Management related to Ambulatory.

Additionally, the Practice Specialist provides support and workflow reinforcement to practice resources and providers in the ambulatory practice settings. Examples include but are not limited to assisting with support on daily processes, workflow enforcement, standard practice protocols, and system functionality. The Practice Specialist is assigned both pre and post go-live tasks related to ambulatory projects. Process improvement will be an outcome as we support initiatives needing assistance for optimal workflow and standardization via project management. The Practice Specialist will help to drive process improvement.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3-4 years work experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in practice acquisitions and EHR system implementations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) required
  • Strong communication skills interacting with stakeholders, leadership, and customers; must possess the ability to interact with people from all organizational levels and keep conversations aligned moving forward to a resolution
  • Data Analysis skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with effective organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and efficiently

Essential Functions:

  • Providing hands-on support for customers regarding workflow and applications, including new functionality. This includes a role to observe and evaluate current state workflows while promoting standardization and reinforcing best practice workflows.
  • Supports the practice in maintaining policies and procedures, as they relate to the use of Epic and computerized documentation.
  • Works independently on all routine assignments and strives to improve practice resource skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Assist in the planning and execution phases for implementing new Epic-driven processes in the practice and processes that support future growth.
  • Maintains current knowledge with respect to Epic applications, relevant technology, equipment, best practice workflows, and/or systems.
  • Assures awareness and access to education/training programs that help the practice resources maximize the use of the features and functions of the Epic applications and workflows.
  • Attends practice leadership meetings, project workgroup committees, acquired practice planning meetings, and EpicTogether meetings as required to promote/exemplify excellent customer service.
  • Ability to identify and recommend areas for process improvement.
  • Follows the process for identification, tracking, resolution, and closure of all issues.
  • Must be able to handle multiple activities simultaneously, be able to prioritize effectively, and meet overlapping deadlines.
  • Liaison with Epic build teams and Operational stakeholders related to management of Onboarding activities.
  • Manage ambulatory onboarding projects including communication and project management tasks as outlined in procedures.
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate project issues (when necessary) in a reasonable period of time.
  • Schedule, prioritize and utilize project management processes to maintain schedules and deadlines.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Meet with business stakeholders to continually review key objectives, discuss projects and onboarding, and prioritization of work requests; attend project status meetings to review progress and present issues that may affect support schedules;
