General Summary: The Practice Manager is responsible for the daily operations related to clinic care in line with Gonzaba Medical Group’s clinical practice standards. This role will be responsible for providing operational guidance and leadership to clinical staff. Additionally, the Practice Manager will encourage the professional growth of clinical and administrative staff to improve management responsibilities and maximize productivity in alignment with Clinical Leadership and GMG core values.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will be supervising assigned clinic staff and medical support staff including LVN’s, medical assistants and scribes.

General Requirements: All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Oversees clinical staff, ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including quality assurance, confidentiality, and medical record documentation.
  • Provides direct supervision to all assigned staff, ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health. Serves as key problem-solving resource for staff on patient issues.
  • Collaborates with Practice Administrator and Medical Director on development and implementation of the clinic goals, policies, procedures, budget, quality assurance plan, and work standards.
  • Compiles/analyzes data on patient experience, performance/productivity, and staffing effectiveness and prepares reports for administration.
  • Participates in medical practice planning related to clinic and emergency/disaster response system.
  • Analyzes staffing patterns with Human Resources. Collaborates with HR department on recruiting, selecting, orienting/training, and evaluating nursing staff.
  • Works closely with the Clinical Trainers in communicating new hire progress, development, and areas of opportunity for training prior to new hires being released from training
  • Facilitates meetings will the Main Family Practice and Satellite clinical staff. These meetings are to review new processes, standardizations, conduct training, and discuss areas of opportunity and create alignment with organizational goals
  • Provides clarification and identification of guidelines to areas that impact the scheduling process and protocols for patient appointment setting to ensure accurate appointment setting and timeliness of access to care.
  • Ensures schedule template changes are made and approved by Practice Ops committee within 48-to-72-hour periods.
  • Monitors and ensure compliance with schedule templates are adhered to and non-compliance situations are escalated to the Practice Ops committee for further review.
  • Responsible for developmental processes and continuous leadership growth within assigned coordinating staff.
  • Encourages physicians to follow day-to-day procedures, collaboratively discussing areas of opportunity with the Practice Administrator to hold them accountable (ex. arriving on time, staying on time, patient complaints, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of a graduate of an accredited LVN program and possess a current TX LVN License preferred or bachelor’s in healthcare or business. CPR/BLS certification is required.

Experience: Minimum five years of professional nursing experience including two years supervisory-level experience, preferably in medical practice setting. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written. Ability to work under pressure.

Other Requirements: Knowledge of word-processing software, spreadsheet software; Internet software and database software

Work Environment: This role is primarily in a clinical setting. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions are common to a clinic environment. Exposure to debris, dust, sharp objects, chemicals and electricity are common to construction environments. Gonzaba Medical Group will provide training and appropriate PPE as required to be successful and safe in your work environments.

Mental / Physical Requirements: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.
