Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day office operations per clinical guidelines and manage patient flow.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, training, evaluation, scheduling, and coverage.
  • Maintain relationships with Medical Director, CNO, Pharmacy, and external partners.
  • Manage payroll submission, patient complaints, inventory, and supplies within budget.
  • Maintain compliance records (OSHA, PHS, CDC, PCMH) and support quality improvement activities.
  • Drive clinic revenue growth and enhance community visibility.

Job description

Sandhills Medical is seeking a highly organized Practice Manager to oversee the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of an assigned physician network office. In this role, you will manage three to four healthcare providers at one site or two to three providers across multiple sites. You will collaborate closely with providers, staff, and internal service lines (including pharmacy and specialty care) to support effective clinical operations, supervise all clinical and clerical staff, and foster strong community engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Oversight: Direct day-to-day office business according to medical guidelines; monitor provider schedules, daily patient flow, and manage patient triage.Staff Management: Direct, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline all clinical and clerical staff while managing schedules and coverage.Collaboration & Communication: Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments (Medical Director, CNO, Pharmacy, Quality Improvement) and external community partners or vendors.Financial & Administrative Duty: Monitor and submit payroll on time, handle patient complaints, and manage inventory and supplies in a fiscally responsible manner.Compliance & Quality: Maintain updated compliance records (OSHA, PHS, CDC, PCMH, BCCCP) and support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and quality improvement activities.Revenue and Community Engagement: Proven ability to drive clinic revenue growth and expand Sandhills Medical’s visibility through proactive community engagement.Requirements & QualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 to 5 years of clinical management/training experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency with medical office software (updating patient demographics, posting charges, and collecting copays).Core Competencies: Strong organizational, critical thinking, and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality, manage shifting priorities, and collaborate with diverse populations and all levels of authority.Salary & BenefitsComprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, and vision options).Retirement plan options.Generous paid time off (PTO).Collaborative, tight-knit, mission-driven team environment.
