The practice focuses on providing advanced oral and maxillofacial surgical care to patients in the Syracuse area and surrounding communities. Role Description

The Practice Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the oral and maxillofacial surgery practice, ensuring efficient, patient-centered service delivery. This full-time, on-site role in Syracuse, NY includes managing front office and administrative workflows such as scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and billing coordination. The Practice Manager leads and supports staff, oversees training, performance, and staffing schedules, and promotes a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring operational metrics, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, supporting clinical & business teams with resource needs, all HR responsibiilities, and addressing patient concerns promptly and professionally. The role also involves collaborating with leadership on budgeting, process improvement, vendor relationships, and implementation of practice policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Experience in dental practice management, including staff supervision, daily operations oversight, and HR duties/laws especially those pertainjng to NYS
  • Knowledge of scheduling, patient intake processes, insurance verification, and billing workflows within a healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations, privacy requirements (such as HIPAA), OSHA and basic compliance practices.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize in a busy clinical environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with patients, staff, and clinicians.
  • Comfort with practice management software, electronic health records, and common office productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, support professional development, and foster a collaborative, inclusive work culture.
  • Prior experience in oral surgery, dental office settings is beneficial; associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, HR or a related field is preferred.
