Job summary

Cone Health in Greensboro, NC seeks an experienced supervisor to lead clinical and administrative staff in ambulatory settings. You will recruit, train, and oversee staff, maintain supply chains, and drive performance improvements while ensuring high-quality patient interactions.

The role requires nursing or medical assistant certification, 3 years of clinical leadership, and certification in practice management within 90 days of hire. CPR certification is also required.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and either Diploma Practical Nursing or Medical Assistant training with certification.
  • Preferred: Associate degree in clinical area of certification/licensure.
  • Required: 3 years' experience in clinical specialty in a medical practice setting. Experience in leading the clinical work.
  • Required: MGMA Principles Practice Management Certificate or Practice Management Institute CMOM certification within 90 days of hire and LPN or Medical Assistant Certification with NC licensure and CPR certification.

  • Orders and maintains office and clinical supplies.
  • Assists in performance improvement activities to enhance department performance.

Job description

Essential Job Function:
  • Supervises assigned Clinical and/or administrative staff to provide guidance, support, and oversight to ensure that the staff members are performing their duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Recruits, hires, and terminates personnel as required to assure efficient and effective workflows, according to policy.
  • Oversees scheduling vacations and scheduling to cover temporary vacating positions.
  • Trains new employees with all related ambulatory clinical workflows.
  • Supervises established protocols for all clinical activities and ensures competency check-off for all staff.
  • Ensures a positive guest experience through adherence to Steps of Service protocols and deescalates situations when necessary.
  • Orders and maintains office and clinical supplies as needed.
  • Assists in implementing performance improvement activities to take proactive measures to enhance the performance and effectiveness of the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and either Diploma Practical Nursing or Medical Assistant training with certification.
  • Preferred: Associate degree in clinical area of certification/licensure.
Experience:
  • Required: 3 years' experience in clinical specialty in a medical practice setting. Experience in leading the clinical work.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
  • Required: Completion of MGMA Principles Practice Management Certificate or Practice Management Institute CMOM certification within 90 days of hire and either LPN Licensure or Medical Assistant Certification, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Licensure - must successfully pass NC Nursing Boards for LPN and maintain a current and continuous unrestricted LPN License. Medical Assistant Certified by one of the following: American Allied Health (AAH), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA); BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider - Must maintain current and continuous certification.
