Job summary

Langan is seeking a Practice Leader – Environmental to join its collaborative team in Jacksonville, FL. This role oversees the growth of the Environmental Practice, managing diverse projects, supervising staff, and driving client engagement across the Jacksonville market.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of environmental investigation/remediation experience, be PG or PE certified, and excel in leadership, communication, and technical analyses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 15+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Strong people, project, and client management skills.
  • Knowledge of EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
  • Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead identification and pursuit of new clients and growth within projects.
  • Provide oversight and management of junior staff on Environmental projects.
  • Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Supervise field activities and ensure correct data collection and lab analyses.
  • Draft reports, proposals, and other project documents.
  • Coordinate work across offices and disciplines as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking an Practice Leader – Environmental to join its collaborative team in Jacksonville, FL. This individual will serve a key function in overseeing and driving the growth of Langan's Jacksonville Environmental Practice identifying and managing environmental/engineering projects and proposals, conducting engineering research and analysis, and supervising field investigations and laboratory analysis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage Langan's robust technical expertise and leadership presence in the Jacksonville market, manage diverse projects, and fuel the further expansion of an innovate and industry‑renowned practice.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;
  • Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
  • Management of junior staff, senior staff, and project managers;
  • Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines;
  • Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;
  • Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others;
  • Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings. Ensure that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time;
  • Effectively organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents;
  • Coordinate other work groups within the same or different office locations and/or within the same or different disciplines on an as‑needed basis; and
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master’s degree preferred;
  • 15+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects;
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations;
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required;
  • Strong people, project, and client management skills;
  • Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software;
  • Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
  • Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
