Reports to Practice Manager or Ambulatory Practice Coordinator, with input from physicians, nurses, or other healthcare providers. Responsible for delivering high-quality patient service and ensuring smooth practice operations.
Greet patients and visitors courteously, ensuring privacy and respect. Serve as a central communication point, respond promptly, and maintain confidentiality.
Perform check-in, registration, appointment scheduling, and demographic verification following APG policies. Use computer systems to register patients and manage data accuracy. Obtain referrals and collect co-pays.
Support patient flow by monitoring arrivals and departures, resolving flow issues proactively, and acting as a liaison between patients and staff.
Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area, ensure clear signage, and monitor environmental conditions for a calming atmosphere. Coordinate repairs as needed.
Provide translation services in Spanish for patients and employees when necessary.
High School diploma or GED.
Preferred: Medical Admin Assistant Certification.
1-3 years related experience.
Fluent in English and Spanish, with medical terminology proficiency.
Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office suite.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of standard practices, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work respectfully within a team and provide excellent customer service.
Calmness under pressure and problem-solving skills.
Sedentary work involving lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally, mostly sitting, with some walking and standing.
