Job description

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is seeking highly talented anesthesiologists to provide anesthesia care at UPMC Mercy hospital. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in anesthesiology and possess or qualify for an unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Position Details
  • General position
  • Schedule: physician daylight coverage M-F 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM; M-F 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Call: All days - beeper call, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • CRNA supervision, 2.75:1 concurrency target
  • Hospital has 22 anesthesiologists and 30 CRNAs
  • Academic appointment: yes

  • UPMC Mercy is a 488-bed tertiary care hospital in the uptown district of Pittsburgh.
  • The hospital has a rich history, from its beginning as the first permanent hospital in Pittsburgh and the first Mercy hospital in the world to its current role as a provider of faith-based care to its patient population, including the underserved in the Pittsburgh area.
  • UPMC Mercy is a Neuroradiology Stroke Intervention Center, Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, American Burn Association-verified Adult Burn Center, and Pediatric Burn Center.
