A prominent medical institution in Baltimore is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to handle high volumes of telephone calls, ensuring accurate appointment scheduling and customer satisfaction. Candidates should have a high school diploma and four years of medical office experience, emphasizing clinical scheduling with an electronic medical record. This role supports clinic operations and requires strong customer service skills.
Under general supervision, answers a high volume of telephone calls using an automated call system. The PAS is accountable for system metrics including but not limited to volume of calls, abandonment rates, speed of answer, average handling time other metrics to achieve high service levels and favorable patient satisfaction scores. In addition, the PAS must be proficient in the use of the electronic medical record and associated applications, to ensure accurate appointment scheduling, accurate and complete collection of patient demographic and insurance data that support efficient clinic operations, and maximum reimbursement for services; and other duties as assigned.
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will depend on multiple factors, which may include geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
