Are you a passionate, experienced nurse educator who thrives in helping the next generation of healthcare professionals grow? We’re seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lead Nursing Instructor to join our Practical Nursing Program. This full-time, 12-month position offers a rewarding opportunity to mentor adult learners, shape curriculum, and contribute to the excellence of nursing education in our region.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our faculty team, you'll guide students through both classroom and clinical instruction, fostering their development into compassionate, competent practical nurses. You’ll also take a leadership role in curriculum development and serve as an advisor and mentor.
Instructional Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction aligned with course objectives.
- Develop and adapt teaching materials and varied instructional strategies.
- Create meaningful exams and assignments to assess student progress.
- Encourage independent learning and critical thinking.
- Provide timely feedback and student evaluations.
- Prepare clinical assignments and manage lab schedules.
- Supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings.
- Lead pre- and post-conference discussions.
- Ensure students are prepared and practicing safe, effective care.
- Offer constructive, written daily feedback.
- Participate in curriculum planning and review.
- Serve as a student advisor, meeting regularly for guidance and support.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to enhance program quality.
- Model professionalism and engage in continuous professional development.
- Support student success and communicate concerns proactively.
- Current New York State RN License.
- Master’s in Nursing (MSN) or BSN actively progressing toward MSN.
- Eligible for NYS Adult Education Certification in Basic Nursing Skills.
- Recent clinical experience in acute, rehabilitative, or long-term care.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
