Job Description

Northland Community and Technical College seeks a full-time, unlimited Practical Nursing Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching. This position will work at both the Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks campuses.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members participate in departmental and campus activities to enhance their disciplines, promote collaboration, and support the college mission. The college values diversity among its staff.

Salary Range:

$43,067 - $94,542

Salaries are based on education and experience, with full-time faculty working 171 days during a ten-month academic year. Initial step placement is limited per the MSCF contract and may differ from the maximum salary range. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree supporting the field of nursing and/or education, with a Bachelor's in Nursing if the graduate degree is not in Nursing.
  • A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing, or a nursing clinical specialty.
Occupational Experience Requirement
  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
Recency Requirement
  • One year of this experience within the last five years; waived if the candidate has two years of recent full-time teaching in the field within five years.
Professional Requirement
  • Current unencumbered RN license in Minnesota.
  • Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for on-site clinical teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or Nursing Education.
  • Completion of Minnesota-approved Nursing Aide training.
  • Experience with accreditation and Minnesota Board of Nursing standards.
  • Minimum two years teaching experience.
  • Training in teaching pedagogies and evaluation methods.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of instructional, testing, and evaluation methods.

Additional Information

Employees driving on college business must comply with MinnState’s vehicle use policies and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.

The college cannot sponsor H-1B visas. Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. from the start date.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, days, with occasional weekends/evenings for clinicals.
