- Develop curriculum and present instruction in the subject area
- Direct, instruct, and guide students in clinical and simulation lab settings
- Complete clinical and simulation orientation and debrief training as needed
- Orient to clinical sites and units before students’ first clinical rotation
- Facilitate students’ critical thinking, clinical judgment, decision-making, communication, and professional skills while maintaining safety and confidentiality
- Engage students in observation, assessment, and patient education
- Assist students in collecting objective and subjective patient health data
- Promote a safe learning environment
- Hold pre- and post-clinical conferences
- Communicate with lead course faculty regarding course orientation and student learning outcomes
- Review the PN Student Handbook and follow clinical policies and procedures
- Evaluate student progress toward clinical, simulation, and course outcomes
- Grade written clinical assignments and return work promptly
- Complete mid-term and final clinical evaluations
- Communicate with course faculty about student learning needs and progress
- Provide feedback on clinical-site adequacy
- Meet with the PN Program Director to review evaluations and improve teaching effectiveness
- Learn and use software and platforms including EHR Tutor, ATI, ACEMAPP, and CAE LearningSpace
- Foster relationships with clinical facilities
- Complete mandatory organizational education and clinical affiliate requirements
- Follow affiliated-agency credentialing protocols
Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years’ work experience as a nurse within the past seven (7) years
- Georgia RN license in good standing
- Must complete affiliated-agency credentialing requirements, including immunizations, TB testing, chest X-ray, drug screen, background check, clinical/unit orientation, ACEMAPP file upload, CPR, and nursing license verification
- Willingness to learn EHR Tutor, ATI, ACEMAPP, and CAE LearningSpace
- Trustworthy, responsible, and professional behavior
- Preferred: teaching experience in a Practical Nursing program
- Preferred: experience using simulation equipment for nursing education
- Preferred: excellent written and verbal communication skills
