Practical Nursing Clinical Coordinator/Instructor

Join to apply for the Practical Nursing Clinical Coordinator/Instructor role at Southwestern Community College.

Position Details

Provide instructional services to nursing students both in the classroom and clinical setting. This is a 9-month position plus summer sessions. The role is classified as full-time, exempt faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as clinical coordinator for the PN program
  • Prepare and teach courses according to outlines and schedules
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Provide clinical education duties
  • Assign and grade clinical work
  • Assist in student recruitment, advising, and retention
  • Participate in curriculum development and revisions
  • Attend meetings and participate in college activities
Minimum Qualifications
  • BSN and commitment to obtain MSN within 3 years or equivalent
  • NCBON certification (NCAC 36.0318-C.5) prior to or within 3 years of hire
  • 4 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Current CPR (BLS), recent TB test, up-to-date vaccinations
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSN
  • Community college teaching experience

Ability to navigate clinical and classroom environments, extended standing, and emotional resilience typical of healthcare settings.

Licensing and Environment
  • Unencumbered NC RN license or Multistate Compact
  • Valid NC Driver's License
  • Work primarily in campus, clinical, and simulation labs with travel as needed
