PRACTICAL NURSE--LICENSED, 1 - 3 (FULL TIME OR WAE/PRN/Part Time)

This position is located in the Nursing Department of the NW LA Veterans Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. It may be filled as a (WAE) Temporary Part-time appointment or as a Probational Appointment. Shifts are 12 hours.

Job Details

• Level: Entry
• Supervision: Close supervision from a higher-level RN or LPN

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Responsibilities

• Implement aspects of the nursing care plan, such as comfort, hygiene, safety, and nutrition.
• Observe patients for changes and report significant findings.
• Obtain specimens for testing.
• Take vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
• Assist physicians and perform routine examinations.
• Provide health education and support to patients.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay varies by level: LPN 1: $23.48/hr, LPN 2: $24.84/hr, LPN 3: $26.30/hr, plus shift differentials of $2.00/hr for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Benefits include insurance, paid holidays, leave, and retirement options.
