Pinecrest Supports and Services Center in Louisiana is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our nursing team. The role supports physician orders, coordinates care with the RN, and ensures quality nursing services across programs.

Responsibilities

• Work under physician orders and RN supervision to deliver routine nursing care and medications.
• Assess and reassess medically stable individuals and implement required interventions.
• Coordinate with RN on care planning, therapies, and procedures.
• Assist in data collection and execution of the care plan using the nursing process.
• Make rounds with the physician and document nursing care and orders.
• Supervise direct care staff and other LPNs within the unit.
• Serve as medication administration chart auditor and report discrepancies.
• Accept additional assignments within LPN scope to ensure quality care.
• Assist in Nursing Performance Improvement activities as directed by the RN.

Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

Pinecrest Supports & Services Center (PSSC) is seeking a dedicated Practical Nurse –Licensedto join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality care and coordination of nursing services across our programs.

Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Duties:

• Works directly under the supervision of the attending physician and the Registered Nurse in the implementation of physician orders for medication and treatments as well as the delivery of routing nursing care.
• Nursing care activities/treatments will include assessment/reassessment of the person deemed medically stable by the RN with the delivery of any necessary interventions, medications as prescribed and routine nursing treatments.
• Confers with the RN in coordination of nursing care, therapeutic services and policies/procedures regarding the assigned workload.
• Participates with the RN in data collection and implementation of the person's plan of care utilizing the nursing process.
• Make rounds with the physician, assisting with various treatments, examinations and transcription/implementation of physician orders. Shows evidence of task completion and implementation of nursing care and the appropriate documentation in the person's integrated record according to both nursing and PSSC procedures.
• Provides functional supervision of the direct care staff and/or other practical nurse license 2 in nursing, preventative and rehabilitative healthcare issues.
• LPN3 will function within their program as medication administration chart auditor and report back any discrepancies or trends to the supervisor.
• Accepts and performs additional assignments within the scope of practice of a LPN as requested by the RN for the smooth operation of the department and in the best interest of quality nursing care.
• Assists in the collection of data relative to Nursing Performance Improvement activities under the direction of the RN.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled by Detail to Special Duty, Probation, Job Appointment, Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.

Career Progression: This positionmay be filled as aPractical Nurse –Licensed 1, 2 or 3, depending on the level of education and experience of the selected applicant.

Work Schedule:

Day Shift:5:30AM – 6PM Night Shift:5:30PM – 6AM Part Time Shift are available:

Salary - Depends on Qualifications

This position has a Special Entrance Rate:

Practical Nurse –Licensed 1 $19.48hr. - $25.44hr.

Practical Nurse –Licensed 2 $20.84hr. - $27.22hr.

Practical Nurse –Licensed 3 $22.30 hr. - $29.13hr.

This position receives premium pay of $ 10.00 per hour.

This position also receives Shift Differential, Longevity Pay, and may receive additional pay options.
