Indian River State College is seeking passionate and experienced professionals to join our faculty as an Adjunct Instructor in Human Services. This role involves preparing, instructing, and grading all coursework, recording attendance, and communicating with students in a timely manner to support learning and student success.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in a related field, have post‑master’s psychotherapy experience, and be able to facilitate in‑class skill‑building

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a mental health field.
  • At least three years of post-master's level work experience as a practicing psychotherapist.
  • Knowledge of human services modalities and instructional techniques; computer skills related to courses.
  • Ability to facilitate in-class skill-building exercises from simulations.
  • Proven ability to work with others and support diverse student backgrounds.
  • SACS credentialing requirements for instructors.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing course materials, lectures, and in-class activities.
  • Evaluating student progress through exams and assignments.
  • Evaluating student practical skills.
  • Providing academic advising to support student success.
  • Participating in department or adjunct faculty meetings.
  • Maintaining professional development for instructional needs.
  • Responding to student inquiries regarding course content and grades.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
