Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in media and/or crisis communications.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage high‑pressure media scenarios.
• Proven ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable messaging.

Responsibilities

• Lead media relations with emphasis on Sacramento region and California strawberry industry.
• Write and distribute press releases aligned with priorities.
• Respond proactively to crisis incidents as they arise.
• Develop messaging frameworks and talking points for various audiences.
• Coordinate media interviews and press events to ensure consistent messaging.
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to guide response strategies.
• Other duties as directed by Supervisor.
