Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Dulles, VA seeks a Principal/Senior Principal Mission Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join our team supporting space and ground programs with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

This role requires TS/SCI clearance and extensive Systems Engineering experience including CONOPS, requirements management, and mission modeling and simulation across complex space systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance at time of application.
• Experience with a space or ground system development program.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices.
• Experience in requirements management, system architecture development, and CONOPs.

Northrop Grumman Space Sector seeks a Principal/Senior Principal Mission Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) to join the team in Dulles, VA. The role supports space and ground programs with opportunities to work on cutting-edge programs and new mission areas, with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

Level 3

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience, or Master’s with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year
• Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
• Experience with a space or ground system development program
• Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices
• Experience in requirements management, system architecture development, and CONOPs

Level 4

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience, or Master’s with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years
• Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
• Experience with a space or ground system development program
• Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices
• Experience in requirements management, system architecture development, and CONOPs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience presenting to customers
• Experience working with a cross-discipline team
• Experience in Space Superiority mission design, satellite ground software, distributed modeling & simulation
• Understanding of system-of-systems architecture designs and the interplay between various national security customers and products
• Mission system requirements, verification/validation planning, mission planning/execution, modeling/simulation, system trade studies
• Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools: Cameo, STK, Matlab, AFSIM, Python
