Job summary

MOR PPM Inc. is seeking qualified Pipe Welders for an outage in Roanoke Rapids, NC. This role requires performing pipe welding per procedures, reading blueprints, and fabricating piping components on site.

Candidates must have at least 4 years of pipe welding experience in an industrial setting, possess their own tools, and comply with safety standards including PPE and LOTO. English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Perform pipe coupon weld tests.
• At least 4 years of pipe welding experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Own a complete set of tools for welding/pipefitting.

Responsibilities

• Execute pipe welding per welding procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints and procedures.
• Measure, cut, and fabricate material to specifications.
• Repair/install/replace piping or pipe components per specs.
• Fabricate and install piping using brazing, soldering, TIG, MIG, stick, and flux-core welding.
• Inspect pipelines and systems for defects.
• Prepare welding surfaces by cutting and shaping materials.
• Communicate project status and needs with team and customers.
• Operate forklifts to move pipes or materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and tools.
• Adhere to safety requirements including LOTO and PPE.

Job Summary

MOR PPM Inc. is seeking qualified Pipe Welders for an outage in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Executing pipe welding according to welding procedures, specifications, and quality standards
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and procedures
• Measure, cut, and fabricate material according to specifications
• Repair/Install/Replace piping or pipe components according to specifications
• Fabricate and install piping using brazing, soldering, tig, mig, stick, and flux core welding
• Examining previously installed pipelines and systems for potential defects
• Prepare welding surfaces for a welding operation by cutting and shaping materials using hand and power tools
• Communicate with team, customer, and team leaders on project status and project needs
• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts to move pipes or materials
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and tools
• Adhere to all safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and other task related safety requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing)
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams
• Have a complete set of tools appropriate for Industrial pipe fitting/welding
• Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
• Perform work at heights
• Perform and pass pipe coupon weld test
• At least 4 years Pipe welding preferably in an industrial setting.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically via DocuSign
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
• Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
