Job Summary:

MOR PPM Inc. is seeking qualified Pipe Welders in Catawba, SC.

  • Executing pipe welding according to welding procedures, specifications, and quality standards
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and procedures
  • Measure, cut, and fabricate material according to specifications
  • Repair/Install/Replace piping or pipe components according to specifications
  • Fabricate and install piping using brazing, soldering, tig, mig, stick, and flux core welding
  • Examining previously installed pipelines and systems for potential defects
  • Prepare welding surfaces for a welding operation by cutting and shaping materials using hand and power tools
  • Communicate with team, customer, and team leaders on project status and project needs
  • Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts to move pipes or materials
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and tools
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and other task related safety requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams
  • Have a complete set of tools appropriate for Industrial pipe fitting/welding
  • Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
  • Perform work at heights
  • Perform and pass pipe coupon weld test
  • At least 4 years Pipe welding preferably in an industrial setting.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

  • Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically via DocuSign
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
  • Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
