Job summary

PPM is seeking an experienced industrial millwright to join our team. You will read blueprints, dismantle and reassemble machines, install equipment, and test performance to ensure safe operation.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, identify worn parts, and perform lubrication to minimize downtime. The role requires forklift operation and adherence to strict safety regulations in a factory setting.

Qualifications

• 4 years millwright experience preferred or related vocational training with 2+ years experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine procedures and layouts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantle machines; move machinery and equipment.
• Assemble and install machines and test them to ensure proper operation.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and lubrication of mechanical parts to minimize downtime.
• Identify and repair faulty parts by running tests or installing new components.
• Move and position equipment using forklifts and related machinery.
• Assemble equipment such as conveyors, pumps, turbines and blowers; align and secure to foundations.

Job description

Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
• Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
• Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
• Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
• Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
• Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
• Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
• Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
• Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
• Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor
• Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications

Preferred: 4 years work experience as an industrial millwright or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to Millwright work from a vocational institution with 2 years’ experience.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job‑related noises
• Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
