Job summary

Continental Group Sector ContiTech in the United States seeks a PPI Chemical Engineer to lead capital projects, optimize rubber processing, and advance material specs in SAP and MAZDA.

You will implement production visibility with Power BI, analyze costs, and support continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing, with readiness to train on floor as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical/Materials Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing/production experience.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and operator collaboration.
  • Strong communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering capital investment projects related to material processing equipment.
  • Improve rubber processing by reducing scrap, increasing labor efficiency and machine reliability.
  • Create, modify, and optimize material processing specifications and recipes in SAP and MAZDA.
  • Conduct new material trials with tracking, feedback, problem solving and recommendations.
  • Implement and improve production visibility and tracking through Power BI.
  • Estimate and analyze production costs and the effects of design changes for management review.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to establish quality and reliability objectives.
  • Troubleshoot based on engineering principles; available outside normal hours up to 20% for trainings and on-floor trials.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Manage engineering capital investment projects related to material processing equipment.
  • Improve rubber processing department by reducing scrap, increasing labor efficiency and machine reliability, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Create, modify, and optimize material processing specifications and recipes in SAP and MAZDA.
  • Conduct new material trials including tracking, feedback, problem solving and recommendations.
  • Implement and improve production visibility and tracking through Power BI.
  • Estimate and analyze production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.
  • Problem-solve and troubleshoot based on fundamental engineering principles. Must be available outside normal business hours up to 20% of the time to conduct trainings and on-floor trial runs.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical/Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing/productionenvironment
  • Hands-on production troubleshooting and operator collaboration
  • Strong communicationwithin all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills
