Job summary

KPIT seeks an experienced automotivePowertrain engineer to analyze e-Powertrain functions, elicit regulatory requirements, and develop high-level functional requirements in IBM DOORS Next Gen. You will identify operating modes, document thermal performance, and contribute in an Agile environment addressing diagnostics for energy storage subsystems.

Deep knowledge of BEV/PHEV architectures, charging standards, V2X, BMS, and functional safety (ISO 26262) is required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of automotive systems (engine, transmission, 4WD, fuel and exhaust).
• Hybrid/BEV architectures and components (inverters, DC-DC, OBC, motor controls).
• AC charging architecture and energy flow in ePT.
• DC charging architecture across regions and BEV/PHEV protocols.
• V2X features and standards (V2L/V2H/V2G).
• Battery management system architecture and functions.
• Charging/discharging standards (ISO/DIN/SAE).
• Advanced automotive tech (Cruise, ACC, ADAS, Stop/Start, ABS/ESP).
• HMI flows and user interaction understanding.
• Plug and charge concept and certificates.

Responsibilities

• Perform e-Powertrain function analysis and decomposition for energy storage systems.
• Elicit requirements: regulatory, environmental and electrical specs.
• Create propulsion system high-level functional requirements in IBM DOORS Next Gen.
• Document propulsion system operating modes in DNG.
• Analyze powertrain thermal system and performance across temperatures.
• Participate in Agile: define RASI, deliverables, timing, risks.
• Develop diagnostics requirements for End Of Line and In-Plant subsystems.
