Job summary

Ford in Dearborn seeks an Engine Controls Software Engineer to collaborate across calibration, systems engineering, and vehicle integration for production-ready solutions on boosted engine programs.

You will design embedded engine controls, capture requirements, and validate control algorithms using C-code and model-based design, while ensuring ISO 26262 compliance and robust validation through simulation and HIL testing.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant engineering field or foreign equivalency.
• 至少3 years in powertrain control algorithms and embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C for automotive controls and testing/debugging.
• Experience with software version control tools such as ClearCase and GitHub.
• MATLAB/Simulink development and simulation experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded engine controls and diagnostic monitors in the powertrain control module software.
• Capture and maintain requirements for vehicle control features; document changes using model-based design and validation plans with simulation, HIL, and in-vehicle resources.
• Manage configuration for multiple vehicle programs and powerpacks across Gas, Diesel, HEV, and BEV configurations.
• Develop and validate control algorithms using C-code to meet functional, emissions, performance, and ISO 26262 requirements.
• Apply software validation methods including unit testing, SIL, MIL, and HIL to ensure system robustness.
• Troubleshoot fuel-path issues; determine corrective actions via data analysis, vehicle testing, and simulation.
• Maintain software description docs, calibration guides, and traceability for fuel-path components.
