Job summary

Archer in San Jose is seeking a Configuration Manager for the Powertrain group to own BOM integrity and change packages, coordinating with supply chain and manufacturing to implement approved changes. You will drive configuration baselines and audit readiness across design, development, and production.

The role requires 3+ years in aerospace/auto CM, hands-on PLM experience, and strong cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of configuration management experience in aerospace/auto OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• Hands-on experience managing hardware BOMs and product structures in a PLM system.
• Understanding of unit/serial/date-based effectivity
• Experience coordinating changes across supply chain and manufacturing
• Familiarity with engineering change processes (CRs, CNs, ECOs, ECNs)
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with leadership and teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the powertrain BOM structure in the PLM system across all build states.
• Define and manage effectivity for propulsion system hardware aligned to serial numbers and milestones.
• Maintain traceability between powertrain items and aircraft-level BOMs.
• Establish and maintain powertrain configuration baselines for design, development, test, and production.
• Plan changes with powertrain engineers; define scope and affected items.
• Coordinate with supply chain to address cut-in points and procurement impacts.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to define retrofit/forward-fit requirements for changes.
• Ensure CM data aligns with enterprise standards and audits.
• Perform configuration audits for propulsion system hardware.
• Generate configuration status accounting reports for program leadership.
