Job description

John Hinderer Honda Powerstore is looking for a Powersports Service Technician who is able to perform diagnostics, repairs, recalls, and maintenance work on motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs. Must have previously worked as a technician. This position will also support the Parts Counter. We’re looking for a candidate with high energy, drive, and a passion for the powersports industry. All wages are competitive and based on your skill level and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
  • Participates in Honda-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
  • Keeps abreast of Honda technical bulletins.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Communicates with vendors on parts and service ETAs.
  • Checks and verifies parts received.
  • Scans all invoices and necessary documents into complete shop the day orders arrive.
  • Assists with repair order documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Honda experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to provide personable, friendly customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Own tools to perform tasks required at your proficiency level.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check inclusive of drug screening.
